Google, Facebook, Twitter and News UK are just some of the 23 massive players that have signed up to the IAB UK’s “Gold Standard” initiative. Tim Elkinton, Chief Digital Officer at IAB will be explaining the initiative in some greater detail. Here are their main aims: –
- Reduce ad fraud by implementing the ads.txt initiative we discussed last week – on all sites carrying ads – were they list their inventory and approved suppliers
- Improve the digital advertising experience by adhering to the LEAN principles, (Light, Encrypted, Ad choice supported, Non-invasive ads). the Coalition for Better Advertising standards and never using any of the 12 “bad” ads
- Increase brand safety by working with JICWEBS (The Joint Industry Committee for Web Standards in the UK and Ireland) with a view to becoming certified or maintaining certification.
